christian dior dune 100ml

Warm, unisex, woody, slightly spicy, with an odd note my nose insists on associating with old fashioned postage stamps or petrol. It's for someone understated and feminine in my opinion. The first time I bought/tried Dune, I sold it shortly after. I'm not sure if I can pick out exact notes, except for aldehydes, but I'm sure that I don't even want to, since this fragrance is wonderful in its complexity which doesn't need to be ruined by trying to pick the whole thing apart. Nothing else to my nose but I don't care. I just bought a little mini, full-bottle worthy for me. I am taking a fresh hit about every hour on hot summer nights (rare in Michigan). The scent of my childhood. Sometimes it can be overpowering, sometimes it's just right. It was perfect for summer days, I felt like goddess (yeah, I know I was ten haha). There are few perfumes amongst the plethora I've encountered, that have physically haunted me. Warm, comfyMy perfume soulmate. Smelling the parfum, the biggest scent I get out of it is oily, sweet, creamy sandalwood, and it is beautifully done. I wear perfume for myself, not for others. This perfume does change and evolve in an interesting way, but it is still too cloying for me. I really enjoy this fragrance and even though it is an EDT, I'd easily believe that it feels more like an EDP.

Now that "Dune" the movie has been recreated I will buy this to celebrate . Soddy humidity is released from the earth with each strike of heel, while trampling a way back to shelter. This is signature worthy. It is so versatile!

Dune gives me my Amber fix. It's adorned with interesting notes that take it in a totally different direction than other "feminine" sandalwoods like Bois des Iles--a salty floral kick, an earthy-pollen-floral broom note which I do get sometimes, and a sweaty floral accord not dissimilar to Kingdom. I just assumed it wasn't for me and forgot about it. Dune deserves it. Then a couple minutes later, peony and rose calm the sharp beginning creating a comforting feeling. It's amber woodiness. And at your young age of 21.. On me, this is a sandalwood and rosewood explosion with an afterthought of ylang-ylang and aldehydes. Most Dior smells wonderful on me. Its innovative bottle with rounded edges is designed by Veronique Monod. So I never bought it. The association, therefore, has been made for me. I have a modern EDT sample to go off of. Still its quite heavy and rich and feminine. The vintage feel remains throughout. DUNE is a MUST for any DIOR collection. Unlike most gourmand scents in market, this feminine scent is a sea breeziness with sweet, floral, amber, dry, resin, woody, fruity, musk and aldehydes note that all are so well blended that it makes every minute of wearing it beautiful and unpredictable. dior is magical. For an EDT, it is exceptional in performance. In this comparison, Dune is the soulmate. I remember buying it for my mum and it kind of reminds me of her even though she did not wear it much. Dune captures the idea of a 'journey' and the apparent 'spiritual awakening' that can occur in the unrelenting desert heat. This is a desert alright. My all time favorite! There are the loud, crazy ones, there are those that just proclame "I cost a lot of money, look at me", there are the forgettable one night stands that you look at after buying and wonder what were you thinking, the sweet kiddie crushes and the wallflowers that nobody notices and only get smelled when given as presents. Old Dune didn't agree with me, but the newer formula is a wonderful modern vintage.

Natural driftwood, not piers coated in creosote. And it is an introvert (if we could categorize perfumes this way). It's well balanced and has great sillage and awesome projection. In general I only apply a tiny amount of perfume on any given day. The amber is too strong an element and I guess I just don't like the smell of amber that much. Any one knows ? Dune is the simple reason why Dior is and will be my favorite designer house, when it came out in 1991 it was a groundbreaking fragrance because it united the house's perfume tradition with the new air of the 90s and today I can say that even with a view to the future. Fragrance Reviews: 1,286,752 Dune was given to me as a gift years ago, by my uncle, probably purchased at a Duty Free shop when coming to visit. It's not like any of the other perfumes on your table, it doesn't bore you with one -LOUD- note, it doesn't give you heartache or headache. I really wanted to like this for the bottle, for the ad, for the name but I never have been able to like it. This was my wedding perfume Christmas 1993. 6.4/10. On my skin, this feels warm, complex, smart and unforgettable. I was entranced. Dune by Dior is a Amber Woody fragrance for women. PM if interested . I remember this fragrance wafting around in the 90's and I'm pretty sure my mum and/or sisters owned a bottle at some pointbut that really is only the top notes, the intimate drydown is less familiar but an absolute revelation to me. Finally surrendering your body into the night, kissed with smoke, still warm from the fire. Dune smells like a cold night out in the desert and the beach on a winter day.

This is my new drug. I am so lucky, I wore this so much in high school! It's hard for me to boil it down to particular notes because so many elements are blended into harmony. It's warm, amber, balsamic, bright. This is simply working its own way. Having tried and smelled 100s of fragrances tru the years, Dune is my #1 female perfume of all times. I received my new flacon, 3.4oz EDT in the latest batch formulation. Initial spray brings some spicy, herbal and spicy feel which quickly melts to rose, fruity, woody, salty, powdery and amber notes. Hermes Merveilles perfume (2004) is the closest scent I have found to Dune perfume. It was hot and full of sun, it reminded me the smell of desert. Now that I am a grown up woman and I have differentiated myself, and acquired many bottles of perfumes over the years, I am very happy to have Dune in my collection. One time when I wore it the aldehydes were a little too potent for the first half hour or longer and weirdly with only one spray. 1 single spritz goes a long way on my skin, leaving a trail of salty and sun dried exotic wood mixed with a sandalwood note. If You think Dune is a safe, beachy, warm, feminine perfume You're very much mistaken. A tremendous concoction. Infinity! The first time I tested it the aldehydes were very potent and I also smelled what reminded me of bad breath for hours. Keep in original box in a dark cupboard.

Though I love vintage perfumes, aldehydes do not agree with my chemistry. The albatross of doom from The Rime of the Mariner carried with serenity by someone who bears the penance. Not just for me but for one and all who are all around. Still, it is worth a try. Its hard to find though. On my skin it lasts not more than 2 hours and I think this is terrible because I paid 80EUR for the bottle. I crave the sweaty masculine spicy herbal(?) It is for strong and resilient women like my grand mother for sure. Masterpiece at its best!! The performance is outstanding too just like the scent, it is long lasting and timeless. It remains one of the only scents my mother can wear because it is so arid and unpretentious, the opposite of Dior's Poison. Just do it. Opening notes are more of spicy the melds into skin effortlessly. Dune is like a long journey inward. It is feminine and fresh without being citrusy Floral without being powdery and definitely not sugary. I found it very masculine, and I was partial to gourmands.

My mum gave me her old bottle andidk if it's off but it smells like everything I dislike about sandalwood. Because I get hot sand and --- chrysanthemums! I honestly don't get the strangeness and melancholy some people ascribe to Dune. And those two notes were what sold the perfume to me. Its a warm, slightly sweet and comforting scent I am really enjoying in this cold weather. Dune was my first real love. If dune was a genre of music, it would be classical music. I do think that the choice of name harks a little bit to Frank Herberts novels, as there is a dry, exotic, evocative character to Dune that has absolutely nothing in common with a beach.

I liked it quite a lot at first. Im finding it so hard to express my feelings and opinions about this onebut all I can say is that since I first tested it Ive bought 3 bottles (including one original formula)all within 1 month. Incredible. It was perfect for the day. I relly like this perfume. It had been snowing the week before my wedding and whilst bitterly cold on the we had bright sunshine. Wanna have this one till the grave. Masterpiece of perfumery. Interesting combination of amber and aldehydes. So yes, this perfume is actually a winner, a queen and a joy in little cutie bottle. I love this scent, but it depends on mood. It was like being confronted with some alien world, a world with Lovecraftian geometry. The whiffs I get are heavenly. I find it quite intoxicating, and while I like and love many other fragrances I don't think of them as intoxicating. This is a unique fragrance, not a dime a dozen fruity/floral, that's for sure. What it is today, I have one word for it: Amber. I was ten and my mum had the set of Dior minis.I loved Miss Dior and Dune. It's become my most worn day-to-day because it's perfect for work - not vampy or overly sexy for my comfort level around colleagues, but not without femininity or personality. My mom used to wear it when I was a kid, and I took it from her on special occasions as a teenager. Theres a saltiness, a freshness, and then lots of warmth, an intoxicating true amber, like the light coming through a precious stone. Every wear has been different so far which is very interesting as I haven't really experienced that before at least not to this degree. Totally thrilled with this purchase of mine. Its old enough to be unique, but timelessly wearable and perfect for summer and spring. My chemistry seems to ruin all the fragrances people love and which I myself most want to love. I was over at my mom's this afternoon, and she brought out some old perfumes she'd found: a four-pack set of 5mL mini Dior bottles ("Dior Addict", "Dune", "J'Adore", and "Pure Poison") bought in early 2004 (the receipt was still in the box, lol!) It is rosey-woody, balsamic - but I struggle to describe it technically, because this scent brings so many emotions. This does have a very beachy smell, but beaches all smell different. I remember the day my father offered my mother this wonderful perfume in 1991. Smells like a warm beach towel.

These epic wonders are capable of so instantly summoning such splendid passageway into other planes of reality, that I am almost forced to re-categorize their nature. The warm, complex, unforgettable and noticeable scent with one loud note that is nice stuff altogether. Dune has a unique character but the crispy feel is so similar to Alien.

This perfume has a woody side of Alien by Mugler. Trudging feet nudge newly formed dew, just as the beach's sand transforms into grass, muddling dark verdant notes of patchouli, wallflower and vetiver as the genesis of trail begins to form. preferably at a beach. I got a well stored vintage. Hahaha! Mysterious. This is on my list of unisex fragrances, I am male and this is one of my favourites to wear. Oh I love this so much. Umema: The Perfume That'll Never Be Smelled, Carner Barcelona - the Summer Journey Collection, Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Pour Homme Le Parfum, Amber and Ambergris are Two Different Notes, Rice Perfumes That Stand Out From the Crowd, Should You Smell Someone Before Talking to Them? eau sauvage dior 100ml toilette spray selfridges parfum classic As a guy who rocks many fragrances marketed to women, I find Dune utterly, wonderfully unisexthe woodiness actually reminds me a lot of Dior Homme Intense. SO BEAUTIFUL, Im a 27 year old guy and Ive been wearing this a lot lately. Old but gold! I needed it. Once I got my hands on it, though, I was so happy to have finally taken the plunge! Fragrantica Trends is a relative value that shows the interest of Fragrantica members in this fragrance over time. Just, THIS. The woodiness is all over and through out. Finally got my hands on this one! Though I feel my collection is fairly complete now, I'd welcome a bottle of vintage Dune. It's so distinctive, comforting, and yet strangely adventurous. Just after spray, very green, orange, moss, aldehyde, ozone, clover field, jasmine, then a buttery cantaloupe just to the verge of nauseating. Long lasting with great projection. If Dior ever do masterpiece it definitely turns out to be all-time masterpiece. There's something exciting and unique in Dune, something like crystalised marigold or sunflowers, though sunflowers do not have any scent, just the feeling.. and i love whatever that is. If you can translate the emotional connection, to know what Dune smells like, what the Dune experience is all about, listen to Sting's "Desert Rose" with Cheb Mami. This is something you wont ever get bored of. But not in a ruthless. Its pure liquid perfection in its seduction. Why? Perfumes I could instantly conjure in my memory, as if I had just experienced their sorcery.

I wonder if I still have the same reaction almost 20 years later. I get floral and sweet.two things together I detest. I like to switch up my fragrances but I have worn this every day since I received it. It's so hard to describe it as it is so unique you just have to at least smell it one time but this perfume feels very visual it's like you can envision a scene just by smelling it, it tells a story. P.S- bottle is also pretty unique. After a quarter of a century has passed, and still she glides through my mind with banshee cries as clear as a coastal night's sky. The only aldehydes I can seem to tolerate! It is like thick mist at dusk. Alas, the notes sounded lovely but on me this is just a sugary citrus with some warm amber behind it. This is a collectors item. Immediately, instantly, upon first smell. became my absolute fragrance of all time.

Its very dry, smells like clay and wood and there's a faint floral quality that is more like pollen. "Arrakis--Dune--Desert Planet." Its Ashy embers of sand and time swirling. So, It has to be my nose/skin. It is nothing like I imagined. character to the perfume. It works well in the hottest temps, transporting one to hot desert sands in distant lands. Dune for me should have a rating of 4.50 above. With opening notes of benzoin and aldehydes, one can almost sense saline waves breaking into a mist against musky, sun-worn skin.

This is the sweet but very dry aroma of a place where water is often mere fantasy, the wood is beyond desiccated, the sand softly to urgently driven by fluctuating winds of drying, heated blasts. My all time favorite. The base develops into an amber-like chypre that gives comfort to the wearer that amidst an endless desert has always an oasis. Salty, woodsy, sparkling and kind of bitter-sweet. This can easily be worn by men and they would never have to be afraid that it will make them feminine. The newer version I'll say is nothing to write home about. Dune is so good. (about 2 years ago). I absolutely love this fragrance!! I remember how it was slightly spicy, I got wafts of a warm amber all day. Wearing this is a really enjoyable experience which is what we all want from a fragrance. It's definitely from the same era as one of my favourites, Estee Lauder Pleasures, although they are very different. Its a warm fragrance that can usually be worn in summer too. Rich, deep, sensuous and intriguing. Man, I'm rather bummed that I don't really like this scent. Definitely an "I can't stop sniffing" favorite! My step-mother received a set of this from my dad when I was a little girl.

Was so excited because of notes and reviews. This is literally the smell of my wedding day. I suppose like a breeze. My mom used to wear this one out when I was a kid, late 90s/early 2000s. I was so sad and disappointed, that I almost cried. I hope it never gets discontinued. I think that the manufacturer might be cheaping out on the base notes. Dune Woman was and still out of this world. But then ends up in the base notes smelling like strong aftershave, very masculine. So many wonderful memories are tied to this somewhat marine, somewhat desert-y beauty. Very unique, creative, unusual and it worths your attention. The End. I was excited to try Dune a few weeks back but was turned off by the smell of it on paper. It differs, still, from anything else I've sniffed. There are a few women's scents I adore. Dune was my mother's favorite in the 90s. Unfortunately, it was even worse somehow. Im so glad I tried this. When I first smelled it I thought it was very depressing in some way it made me feel sad but at the same time comforting. For me, she does this back-and-forth between masterpiece and "being at the mall." I wanted it. And I got it. Dune was my wedding day perfume. Smells unisex. My oh my what a beauty. This is superb in terms of scent, performance, longevity, compliment getter and everything else one looks for in a perfume. Uniqueness in a bottle. The dry down is spicy but still not warm.

Now having some nostalgia I went back and got a vintage bottle. Dior Dune (1991) - dry flowers - Perfumers #dominiqueropion #nejlabarbir and #jeanlouissieuzac starts the accord with Aldehydes and Citruses, but unlike Chanels waxy accords, this is sharp and bright. It is an extremely warm scent, not at all fresh, green, and athletic. I love this one. Its not like other perfumes. The notes say aldehydes and other flower scents. What I got on my skin is not sandalwoody-amberish oriental perfume I so wished for, but just another pleasant flower scent (which reminds me of Apom by Maison Francis Kurkdjian). It's become my "boss ass bitch" scent, maybe just because I wore it to the interview that snagged me a job that despite being min wage, was on the first rung of the notoriously difficult-to-enter career ladder I wanted to be on (despite having no qualifications in said career, which is why the interview seemed like a Hail Mary) - so I may have afforded this an auspicious, almost mythical character, but honestly? But yet it is earthy, comfortly grounding. Its truly beautiful, haunting and a unique fragrance indeed.

It's a mild sandalwood that is perfectly 'wearable' but unfortunately quite forgettable. Woody notes bind the strong flowery aromas to boost the character. Unique. She possesses a stunningly balanced use of fragrant woods; sturdy, yet softened somehow; edges rounded like driftwood. As a Vata dosha (for those who are into Ayurveda), I can say it has soothing, calming effect. I really wanted to love this perfume as I love Dior fragrances. It's not a knockoff, but it shares notes and has a similar indescribable loveliness. Its not too sweet, its not too dry , I cannot pick out the indiviual notes on this one it just melds together so perfectly !! I have camped on the beaches in the Gulf of Mexico several times and experienced the extreme heat both day and night. She had the perfume and talcum powder displayed on her dressing table. Heart notes include precious wood warmed in the sun, desert wind, smoke and incense, preserved lemon, white pepper. Beautiful! Please read the Terms of Service and Privacy policy. Long-lasting, intense, timeless and fascinating. And bought it and tried it. It's not that she is ordinary at all, but Dune was born when I was a teenager just getting hooked on shopping at the mall. It is if carry powder smell was turned into a flower. If you like this, try Grs Pice Unique.

?! The other day, after being resigned to a drawer for years, I sprayed some on a whim and WOW, exactly as I remembered it. She took my words away - I couldn't even articulate what emotions I felt, much less describe the scent. I'd say: it is about soul age. With this one, my nose is broken.

Then it transitions to what I can only explain as dried flowers drying on a Rosewood base. There is coziness to it like a beach, there is French luxury to it with varying notes of musk, flowers, wood, amber, resin, fruits and aldehyde too.

Queen of perfumes I would say that is full of dignity and truly a soulmate. Although our wdding was in December, Dune fitted the occasion perfectly. It smelled stale and like really horrible bad breath on me! I have broken down and ordered a bottle.

Its the end of the world. The wood note on the opening is strong, which is nice. I love my vintages, but something about my skin chemistry just didn't mix well with it. Dune is a powdery amber, accompanied by sandalwood, patchouli, benzoin, orange, oakmoss. correspond plutt une femme d'ge mre (environ 60ans); sentir avant d'acheter, cependant travail du nez intressant car arriver marier toutes ces senteurs est un vrai challenge. Awe-inspiring! I spin up many scent related emotions in the presence of the power of the ocean. I havent smelt the latest version, it probably wont be a patch on this beauty . Plus it's cheap and easy to find on the web. Instead of the classic Chanel powder, there is a subtle smokiness. The bottle that holds this liquid gold feels like a well worn beach stone washed up onto the sand, heavy, smooth, cool and molds into your hand.

It's like almost too precious to even use. Definitely going to wear this masterpiece on special occasions. Maybe its not the beast it used to be but thats why I love it so much , summer months are the best time to wear dune its just becomes one with my skin. There is no petal-like dew or green leafs glistening.

I'm ready for the adventure. Calming and soft. Vintage Covet, Wicked Bijan, New West, OM, Calyx, Womanity the taste of.Also fascinated by Bandit, Kineze 10- so I am all over the board. is it a burial at sea or the birth of Freyja?. Like the rays of the sun hitting your eyes. I blind bought it after reading up the reviews. Granted, I had just quit smoking when I tested this, but when I tell you it actually smells like cigarettesI had to walk away , im pretty sure I would have gone out and bought a pack if I put it on me. I just dont think Im interested in going back here perfume-wise. There is no specific single loud note, rather many notes keep coming up and over to keep the charm throughout. ATM 5.5/10. Got a vintage bottle 7 years ago from a friend that was cleaning out her room when she was moving to a new apartment. dune I have the modern EDT. This gem is for a mature person - and I don`t mean physical age. I still think it is a lovely and extremely unique scent but I feel so disappointed of its lasting power. Just confusingly sweetto what would annoy me if I were a man smelling this on a woman. The bottle matches it perfectly. Thought for sure it would be an instant obsession. She wore Dune, Pleasures, Opium, Eau de Givenchy, Chanel No 5 All of those smelled incredible on her, but Dune was somehow special to me. For the sake of that craving I started to look for it in shops and I found obviously the reformulated version. Base notes are vanilla, patchouli, benzoin, sandalwood, amber, oakmoss, and musk.

I inherited an old bottle from my grandmother, so I don't know precisely when it was made. I used to come to the bathroom secretly and dabbed my neck with this utterly beautiful scent. Damn it Dior!!! creamy smooth sandalwood. I bought a backup bottle because I heard it has been discontinued :( which is a huge travesty. You're strolling lazily along the warm blonde sand dunes where the driftwood lays in the dusk, a mild breeze wafts the scent of distant wood florals, this is Dune. This is noticeable yet not loud to give headache. As well s feel sand heat. I purchased a vintage bottle of this to try. So pleasant and comforting.
