They dont sound like anything else Ive used, and I been through a lot of strings. These strings have such a smooth tone and feel. I havent used anything heavier than 40s for probably 25 or 30 years. And don't get me wrong, I see why. Really great vintage thump tone, with smooth yet pronounced mids.

Do I like them? Even the other guys noticed the improved sound of the bass! They are super pricey but they are sound awesome. I have a fretless Fender bass (tony Franklin). But heres the equal part: like the bridge-cable LaBellas, the TIs sound terrific, and they only get better with age. The low tension is something that one can get used to but a .43-.100 gauge string is essentially useless for me as soon as the drummer comes in.

Feels like I'm playing light rounds, but with that flat tone I love. TI flats are on my Precision, Jazz, US Jaguar (a PJ), and my Squier fretless. Normally Im a LaBella 1954 Original Vintage guy, but my two Fender 57 AVRI Precisions just dont have the necks for those things. The LTF are a great choice for a rootsy & folky bass role, and can present a beautiful woody, almost "upright" tone-> but they can hold their own in a louder context, too. People rave about these strings! The D string sounds a bit dead, maybe because I took them off the other bass, but it's not too bad. Thanks! They have silk round around the primary wire which seems to let them settle in and sound better quicker.

Also had to adjust the intonation. These strings sound great and are super comfortable to play. The mids are great and the lows are wonderful.

Very different strings, but two of my favorites! I like these trings and have them on my fretless basses. The Dogal are a beautiful, nuanced set with lower output and a low E string that is very subdued and not as defined as the La Bella, but also with a little bit more of a "singing" / vocal quality in the midrange. Only marginally softer feeling thanmy usual Roto 40-100 Swing Bass (I havent had to touch the neck) and noticeably stiffer than the 35-95 nickel Rotos, which surprised me, although matches the tension figures in my first post. I was looking for the tension figures last night, comparing them to other strings Ive used, and the tension for the JF344 (43, 56, 70, 100)set appears to be showing as 140.19, which isnt that muchless than the 40-100 or 40-95 Roto Swing Bass I normally use (155.38 & 145.35) and is actually quite a bit higher than the Roto nickel 35-95 I occasionally alternate with (127.14).

These are great strings if you like a lower tension string with a soft feel. They have a real bark down low. Right! I love the tension and they work so well tonally on a gig. My band plays a lot of 70's pop/rock and these strings cover that genre. Will never have any other strings on my bass but these. I keep browsing the For Sale but by the time I get there theyre always sold. The short scale version works well on both of my short scale basses. I like the growl, particularly on the E & A and they do feel nicely balanced, with the exception of the G (a 43) which to me feels far stiffer than the other strings, and which Im not keen on.
