Hi!
If you aren't wanting to check out much more than the Wizarding World, one day will be just fine at Universal; if you think you'll want to do very much outside of the Wizarding World there, we would suggest option for a 2-day ticket instead. The attractions available during morning Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom are Astro Orbiter, The Barnstormer, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, "it's a small world", Mad Tea Party, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Peter Pan's Flight, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid and Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress. That way, you won't be heading into a park full of early birds :) Rope dropping and staying as long as you'd like sounds like a great plan - enjoy! If you are going to take advantage of EMH (especially since they're in the evening), we'd definitely go to Hollywood Studios since you'll see some of the shortest lines of the day (and like you said, there should be less kiddos since many will be hopping off to bed, plus it'll be cooler). We will be visiting Magic Kingdom for one day the week after thanksgiving this year.
Example: EPCOT has evening Extra Magic Hours from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. Disneys Hollywood Studios is a recommended park that day. We'd definitely take advantage of EMH!
In order, that would mean Epcot on the 5th, Magic Kingdom on the 6th and Animal Kingdom on the 7th. Just lighter than the evening EMH, as some resort guests may opt to have a sleep-in day and hop to the parks a little later to take advantage of the evening EMH. We'd say pick whichever date works best in your favor. On Animal Kingdom day, we'd suggest hopping wherever you may have missed a ride or would like a second turn before you leave (which for us, is always Magic Kingdom!).
Special events, new attractions or peak times are the main reasons why Disney may switch up the schedule. Yes, you would be able to take advantage of the Early Theme Park Entry benefit (which starts Oct. 1) during the length of your on-site stay. We arent staying at a Disney resort. or right at 6am? They are only available to Disney Resort hotel guests, but Extra Magic Hours affect all park-goers. Hi! And we often visited 2 times a year. However, with the opening of Rise of the Resistance, Disney is adding EMH in the evening for Hollywood Studios. We arrive late July 2nd but was considering rope dropping HS our 1st day. Have a great time!

I see emh for Epcot at night 11/19/19 9pm-11pm and Magic kingdom 11/2019 night for 9-11pm. Yes, Extra Magic Hours are gone and Early Theme Park Entry is here! Would you say we should be in line an hour early? Thanks for Anh guidance on strategy. Share your questions below!
The little one may enjoy some of the Dr. Suess rides.
Any suggestions for riding these without standing in line for 3 hours. They sure are! This makes the park more congested during regular Disney park hours. If you think Extra Magic Hours strictly apply to Disney Resort guests, you are only partially correct. Be sure to get there early, as sometimes you're able to get in early :) The buses run an hour before Extra Magic Hours begin at all of the resorts, so we'd either count on the buses or schedule a ride share service ahead of time. Since we cant participate, which day would You estimate to be less crowded? Example: The overall resort crowd level is a 4. Hello ~ so each park opens 1 hour early for crowd control purposes and it looks like from other comments I have read, that there are EMH in the evenings? We will not be getting a park hopper and will be visiting each park 1 day and MK 2 days. Ideally we were thinking of the not so scary Haloween Party but are really unsure if it's good value considering we already have tickets for the parks each day we are in there. Honestly, not everyone gets up early before parks open.
Hoppin' news!
Thank you!
According to our Crowd Calendar, that day should only be about a 6 in terms of crowds, so we don't think things will ramp up enough that it's worth skipping EMH all together.
(s20). We are traveling in mid-March, visiting Magic Kingdom on a day of 8:00-9:00 EMH.
I am going for a short trip and leave to go back home October 31.. my flight is not until 12 noon and I am a pass holder.
I know that this is an incredibly busy time to go to the parks. Base tickets, 6yr old, 2yr old, me and my mom with an ECV. I have regular park tickets and not hopper passes. Want more advice about using Extra Magic Hours?
I think it comes down to whether or not you want to have a regular night at Magic Kingdom. That said, we are big fans of Extra Magic Hours (but we're also early birds). We also hope to see Magic Kingdom and Epcot- 1 day each with no Disney park hopping.
We recommend hitting the parks offering Extra Magic Hours if you're up for using them! My family of 4 will be visiting the parks and staying onsite from March 17-24.
We would suggest taking advantage of EMH if you have early risers!
We will be visiting 7/6 to 7/18. I am going to Hollywood studios extra magic hours in about two weeks starting at 6am.
I thought about switching Epcot to Tues and MK to Wed but the crowd calendar shows them in red as being the busiest ( I assume due to the extra evening magic hours).
x-show="$store.showBackToTop" - T.H. If you have park hoppers, you can spend your day in another park and hop over for the nighttime entertainment an hour or so before it starts. We'd recommend hopping to Magic Kingdom when EMH is not going on since you'll be staying off-site. Shades of Green on Walt Disney World Resort, B Resort Located in the Walt Disney World Resort, Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs, I'll be staying 12/26/2021 - 12/31/2021 at Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista. Only guests of Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resorts and other select hotels (Swan & Dolphin, Swan Reserve or Shades of Green) will have access to extended evening hours on select nights. If that's not a must for your family, then we'd plan on heading in whenever you think the fam will be ready to tackle the day :) If that means more sleep and cruising in later, cool!
Keep in mind that evening Extra Magic Hours, especially thoseearlier in the evening (say, 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. vs. midnight to 2 a.m.), tend to attract more crowds than morning Extra Magic Hours. case '6': invalid_hotel_child_age_6 = false; break; Useful resources on how to save time at your favorite theme parks.
Yeah, its Disney, but they are $$$$.
My son and his buddy want to build a droid (or lightsaber, I forget what they decided on!) Since you'll need to be in the park to enter the virtual queue, the earlier you can hop in and try to grab a spot, the better :) Cast Members will tell you when you can start trying to join a Boarding Group! Thanks! }); Hope this helps!

It would affect what Fastpasses i attempt to get if there are particular rides that aren't running during EMH. x-transition:enter-start="opacity-0 transform translate-y-0" We are so hoppy to hear it!
Instead, guests at official Disney resort hotels and select Disney partner hotels willbe able to enjoy 30-minute early entry to ANY theme park, EVERY day. As far as whether or not rope dropping is in the cards the day after your arrival, you know your family best!
If you're staying at a Deluxe Hotel or Deluxe Villa, then you'd also be able to use the Extended Evening Hours benefit (which starts in October) during your on-site stay. }
And for those of you who are park regulars, doyou take advantage of Extra Magic Hours or avoid the park that has them? (We have an 8 year old). Go to Disneys Hollywood Studios during normal park hours, then hop to EPCOT that evening during EMH. All rights reserved. We are planning to go end of February, staying off site. Each park allows visitors down the main avenue to a certain point, where cast members are often holding a rope; once the park officially opens, the rope will drop, and you can enter the park fully. What about EMH at night in Magic Kingdom? Are we best doing Epcot or Hollywood Studios on Halloween for example?

Be sure to check out our answers to Frequently Asked Questions, as well as our FastPass+ tips and strategies. We have base park passes for 6 days. If you aren't opting for the party, then we would definitely skip Magic Kingdom on party nights, as it'll close a little early to the general public. Im staying at Grand Floridian in Feb. Right now, the schedule is only showing dates in October, so check back as more dates are added. Thanks in advance!!! Thanks in advance for the help. Visiting on Wednesday April 1.
There is no benefit for showing up to a park with EMH if you don't actually attend during Extra Magic Hours. We are planning a trip where we are starting off at an on-site property and then switching to an off-site property (not on the list of properties that get the extra morning/evening hour perk) but have multi-day one day, one park tickets that span both on-site and off-site stays. Generally, most folks will start to filter out after the fireworks, so you should be able to enjoy a significantly less crowded park (especially as the night goes on!). My name is Kanika and our trip is planned for July 3rd-9th. switch(childElementNum) { Historically, that is a pretty busy time until school is back in session around the second week of January. Unfortunately, only those staying at a Disney Resort hotel will be eligible to attend EMH (they'll scan your MagicBands for entry, which also serve as your room key). Thank you for your post and time! Have a great trip :) You can find all of our Park Plans here to help with tips for each park. As you hop deeper and deeper into your Walt Disney World vacation planning, you may see the phrase Extra Magic Hours, or EMH, pop up. On certain days of the week, guests can enter a park one hour earlier or stay in a park up to two hours later than normal park operating hours. Have a great time! And while resort guests don't have to head to the park with Extra Magic Hours, many of them think that is where they are supposed to go, even if they don't actually visit during the EMH period! Plus, park hours, special events, weather, and more! Would it be worth it to cancel them and try to switch to Hollywood Studios on our arrival day? If you have park hoppers, this is less of a problem. Have a great trip!
It looks like Hollywood Studios will be open until 9 that day, so that still gives you a lot of time to explore the park even if you were to opt to catch some zzz's. Morning Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom and evening Extra Magic Hours at other parks appear to be available during this timeframe as well. Any thoughts?
unlimited?
Hi. What would be the benefit of getting there for EMH?
Thank you! Nationwide, save up to 50% OFF car rental rates with a theme park or attraction ticket purchase.
Have fun! Unless you have Advanced Dining Reservations at the park with Extra Magic Hours, we recommendchoosing another park to visit that day. We have a whole post dedicated to the New Year's Eve events going on at Disney World, which you can find here.
I am staying at a Disney springs resort and I am thinking about attending EMH in the morning at either Epcot or magic kingdom..
We are going the second week of June and have lots of little ones so wanting to avoid the largest crowds and get in a few rides without fast passes in the early morning. Would you recommend hitting up EMH each morning of those says. We were thinking of booking a Disney hotel for a number of nights then possibly moving to a villa.
By the way we are staying off site, non disney resort. Meanwhile, Extended Evening Hours are only available to guests of Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts (plus Swan and Dolphin and Shades of Green), so it would be lighter than the former evening Extra Magic Hours (when all Disney hotel guests could use them). x-transition:leave-end="opacity-0 transform translate-y-0" We are doing park days 28-2. Disney transportation is available an hour after official park closing (even on EMH nights), so it will be available to you. All three of us are adults (1 x mid 60s, 2 x mid 30s) and have agreed on DHS and AK as the two parks we want to see.
As mentioned above, during the busiest times of the year, even more Extra Magic Hours are added to the parks as a perkforon-site guests. If you want a sprinkling of pixie dust for your arrival, you can even watch the parks' fireworks shows from several restaurants or on-site locations without needing to enter the parks (all of the Bay Lake Resorts, for example, have a great view of Magic Kingdom's fireworks!). Are all the rides available for that hour or only some? Thereis special entertainment at a park with EMH. Id like your recommendation for late August, which moves from average to low crowds. Are morning crowds lighter than a day with no EMH at all or just lighter than during the evening EMH? Be sure to use FastPass+ for any other must-do attractionsthat you don't think you'll get to in the morning, such asSplash Mountain.
I purposely selected Disney hotels based on EMH in the PM. Not all of the rides will be available (and keep in mind that these are subject to availability on the day of your visit, as well! Hello and thank you for this helpful article! Even though the Crowd Calendar does not designate each of them as the recommended park for the day, the overall crowd levels are medium.
To grab a Boarding Pass, you'll need to physically be present in Hollywood Studios, so we'd plan for a day when you have time to get there at park opening. Is that what rope drop means? Have a wonderful trip! Since we are staying off site and don't have access to EMH, I was wondering if It would be better to plan our park day this day and get there before rope drop and stay until close perhaps to avoid all those using EMH? Extra Magic Hours are our favorite time to hop in line for any rides we weren't able to get a FastPass for. Thanks! I'm wondering: What is the earliest time you can enter, or get in line for Disney Springs? Does this give us Extended Evening Theme Park Hours at Magic Kingdom Park, Early Theme Park Entry Guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels can enjoy early theme park entry 30 minutes prior to opening each day8:30 AM 9:00 AM, Extended Evening Hours Guests of Disney Deluxe Resorts and Other Select Hotels9:00 PM 11:00 PM.
If you're early birds who like to hop to the parks early then leave mid-day, we'd definitely take advantage of EMH. Crowds should be pretty moderate, with weekends as an exception, during your trip, according to our Crowd Calendar.
We head to Disney for 8 days in the park (no hoppers) getting there the 30th Oct.
Not to worry, we toadally understand that planning a first-time Disney trip can be overwhelming, and we're more than happy to help! This new Disney early theme park entry benefit will debut Oct. 1, 2021, just in time for the Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration.
When we last tried this approach, we waited for about half an hour for Flight of Passage. 4? Since most people don't travel alone, that's A LOT of people.
case '1': invalid_hotel_child_age_1 = false; break; While the stores won't be open yet, you can usually enter Disney Springs to join the line in place (so if you're heading to World of Disney, for example, if you head towards the store, you may see a cast member letting you know where the line ends so you can hop in!). Jurassic Park and Jurassic World TM & 2021 Universal Studios and Amblin Entertainment, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
We are traveling down in a few weeks and are staying off site.
During the opening of Pandora at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios, there were additional Extra Magic Hours for resort guests. While giving on-site hotel guests more flexibility and in some cases an even better benefit the newearly theme park entry will also help Disney better spread visitation across all four theme parks.
Exactly - you've got it! Marathon weekend begins on the 6th, so there may also be a few runners at the parks prior to that event beginning.
We'd hop in line for whichever you aren't able to grab a FastPass for, but you may have time for do both. First timers here!
We sure do - we love Extra Magic Hours! Have a great time! If you aren't wanting to stick it out for EMH that Sunday, then we'd skip Hollywood Studios all together that day. Debating whether we should just cruise in later or stick to the plan due to our late arrival, what do you think? VERY disappointed in losing EMH. Allow enough time to get to the park, whether you are using Disney transportation or driving and parking at the Transportation & Ticket Center.
