For someone who works in a completely random and unorganized fashion. I think you should do your wainscotting in a raised panel to reflect the style of your kitchen cabinetry and I might revisit the flat board and batten on your fireplace surround for the same reason its a little country in comparison to the elegance of your kitchen.
